Cairns 04 - 11 August 2006
Perhaps the highlight of our trip to the Atherton Tablelands was the visit to Millaa Millaa Falls. If it looks familiar, that's probably because you've seen in in lots of TV commercials... particularly those for shampoos. You know how there's nothing us girlies like better than washing our hair in a waterfall. Happens all the time.
The day we were there was the worst day we'd had in Cairns, in terms of weather. Wet and, surprisingly, kinda cold. Although that was due in part to our increased altitude. I'm wearing TWO t-shirts under my Irish jersey here y'know!
Still though, you don't often get a chance to swim under a waterfall, so I had to take it, cold and rain notwithstanding. And I'm very glad that I did. That's me and Scott, the tour-guide, behind the waterfall. Looking up from that perspective gives a most unique view; absolutely stunning.
With hair as long as mine, how could I possibly resist....?
