Job till Christmas
So the engineering company that I was temping for over the last two weeks have now asked me to stay on until Christmas to cover maternity leave for someone in another department... sweet! I start that role tomorrow and I'll be sort of trained in for two weeks before the woman goes on her leave and after that, I'll be left to my own devices.
I'm well chuffed with that because I've gotten to like the people here and it's really convenient to get to from home, just a five minute drive. I might even walk it in the summer. Mind you, I said that when I was in UL and it never happened!
In other news, I had my first ever surfing lesson last Sunday morning at 9am. I thought I would be freezing (it is winter over here, after all), but the wetsuit and booties and gloves and hood meant that I was actually toasty warm... big surprise to me I can tell you. I managed to talk one of the girls from work into coming along too and we both enjoyed it so much that we're going again this weekend and we're dragging another girl along with us.

Hi-ho!
Congrats on the job...would like to see some photos of NZ though, did you not discipline your camera severely enough?? Hmmm ... a query for you Marian, if it is a five minute drive to work, how come it took you three minutes the first day? Are you tearing up and down the roads of Christchurch? Hmmm?????
Anyway, I suppose I should write an email to you instead of getting lost in a stream of conciousness ... I know that is spelt wrong, but with no red line to warn me, I'm lost...I'm going now...oh we are going to electric picnic this weekend, it looks great...and mam is out of hospital..somebody take the keyboard away from me...BYE!
Well miss smarty pants Maria, it took me only three minutes the first day because I left the house at 8am when there was feck all traffic. Wheras these days I leave between 8:20 and 8:25 and it usually takes about 5 minutes, depending on whether or not I get a good run of the lights. And photos of New Zealand will be along soon.... I promise!
Enjoy electric picnic, and say hi to EVERYONE there for me please :)
will do, and check out www.hawkins.ie, which I finally looked up!
