Job-hunting
Well I'm pretty much settled now here in Christchurch. I have the car (a '95 Nissan Pulsar aka Almera), I have the house and now all I need is the job.
My car is great (so far). It's automatic so all I really have to do is point the thing.... good stuff, but it'll probably get me into really lazy mode and I won't want to drive a proper car when I get back. I picked it up on Monday and I've been spinning around Christchurch for the last few days, finding my way about and getting my bearings.
I've also moved into my new house. Over here, rooms are generally rented out unfurnished so I had to buy a bed and a chest of drawers. I bought them second hand so it cost $225 (about EUR 130) to sort that out. The room is in a really nice house with a MASSIVE open fire in the living room... sweet as (as my new Kiwi housemates often say) and I'm paying $80 a week in rent, about EUR 45.
So all I need now is a job. I've registered with a few temping agencies so something should be happening soon enough. Nonetheless, I want you all to keep your fingers crossed for me, nothwithstanding the associated difficulties typing, texting, eating, drinking, driving etc....
Later doods... :)
