Maz NZ and Oz

After a couple of hours in Louisburgh, entertainment provided by The Coasters, it was time for the real party to begin. Earlier in the day, Shane and I had been shopping in Westport for party booze and snacks, then we raided Dad's turf shed and with the help of Leon and Ciaran, dragged fire making equipment over the beach to our party location. So when we left Louisburgh, we all called to Ciaran's house in Old Head, picked up the booze and guitars and headed for the beach. By the time we got there, Maire had the fire going (once a scout etc...) and we settled in for a night (and morning) of singing and drinking and tin-whistling. Kudos to our musicians; Shane, Brendan, Christina and Leonie, the entertainment was top-notch! Great singing from everyone else, especially Paddy, who actually knew all the words to the songs he sang..... unusual in Ireland.... It was seven in the morning by the time I went home and I was told by my MOTHER that there were still a few there at 9am when she went down for her swim.

Thanks also to the weather for being so nice... really appreciated that :)
