Off to OZ!!
Well folks, my time in New Zealand is at an end. Tomorrow afternoon, Andrew and I fly to Brisbane to start our three week holiday. We're going to make our way up to Cairns and then come back to Brisbane. Then I'm going to wait on there to see how I like it while Andrew heads home to New Zealand. But never fear, I'll be back in NZ for the 24th of November to see Bono and the crew who announced their rescheduled tour dates yesterday.
So the next post here should be some faaaaabulous photos and stories from my holiday in Queensland. Chat to you then! :)
Last Day at MWH 14 July 2006
Eileen took this picture of Gen, Maria and I, but then decided that we didn't look pally enough... So take two:At about 8:30 we moved on to the Dux bar in town where we had a wee bite to eat a few more drinky-poos.
But by 10:30, we'd been out for over five hours and we were all getting a bit snoozy, particurlary Mel.
So at about 11pm we called it a night (we're SUCH party animals). But I had a great time, and thanks to everyone for coming along and seeing me off in style :)

Ok - bonus points for those who remember Jenny from the St Patrick's day pictures: Deidre, Eileen and Catriona were very good to come out even though they were still recovering from jetlag.Last Day at MWH 14 July 2006
Here is Max and Wayne. Poor Wayne had to put up with LOTS of questions from me when I was working up in Wellington (and when I was working in Christchurch too, to be honest).Karisa is our volleyball star. She plays on the grown up team in the A Division, I play on the 'junior' team in the G Division... and spend a LOT of the time sprawled on the ground...This is Lisa and Alan. Funnily enough, Lisa is in Australia this week with work
This is Simon and Rori. Rori was one of the original gang heading to the U2 concert (new dates announced yesterday... 24th November, woo hoo!). But now she's been offered a chance to be involved in a really cool project in Iceland, so she might not be around for it. Fingers crossed though! Simon was our volleyball team captain until a nasty knee injury put him out for the season. It has also put an end to his snowboarding season too, which is a real pity :(
Last day at MWH 14th July 2006
Friday the 14th of July was my last day at work, so to mark the occasion, we went across the road to Speight's Alehouse for a few drinky-poos. But what was most exciting about that day was that Maria McHale, along with Eileen, Deidre and Catriona arrived in Christchurch. AND they brought Genny with them! So at lunch time, I scooted into town, picked them and their baggage up (two runs were required), dropped them at the house and gave them instructions on how to get to the pub where I'd be after work.
By 5:30pm, there was a great turn out from MWH (any excuse to go to the pub on a Friday evening).
This is Joan, Owen and Chris
Maria and co had a little trouble trying to explain to the bus driver where they were going, but it all worked out in the end.... here's Gen, Maria and Ange.By 5:30pm, there was a great turn out from MWH (any excuse to go to the pub on a Friday evening).

This is Joanne and Liz. Liz doesn't actually work with MWH anymore, so it was really good of her to come along.
